The Codist

I moved this blog to an Amazon EC2 server. Fairly painless using the good folks at Turnkey Linux. Other than a bit of minor puzzlement and editing a few configuration files it was pretty easy. Automatic daily backups and trivial backup testing are pretty sweet features.

I have been using a real server but this should save me 80% per month.

Assuming this works OK I will move a few more things and then shut down the hardware. The only remaining test will be posting to twitter.

At my work we use Amazon for serving various things as well which got me to think I should try it out. What an amazing world we live in.
