Scala is an interesting hybrid OO and functional language I am reading about. It runs on the JVM and integrates with Java frameworks, but still has a varied and interesting feature set.

So far I like it. The plugin for Scala for IntelliJ is not all there yet so playing with it won't be as easy as it could be for me.
